Introduction
Managing a Facebook Business Manager sounds simple—until you find yourself with multiple accounts, blocked ads, and billing issues. As a beginner, I didn’t fully understand how Business Manager, Business Suite, and Meta Ads worked, and I ended up creating three different Business Managers and multiple ad accounts. This led to confusion, failed payments, and a complete advertising shutdown.
In this blog, I’ll break down how I got into this mess, how I fixed it, and how you can avoid making the same mistakes.
What is Facebook Business Manager?
Facebook Business Manager is a control center that lets you manage multiple business assets like Facebook Pages, ad accounts, and payment settings—all in one place. Think of it as a headquarters where you control who manages what in your business.
With Business Manager, you can: Organize multiple Facebook Pages under one account Assign different people to manage different tasks Control your ad accounts and payment methods Keep personal and business activities separate
What is Meta Business Suite?
Meta Business Suite is your daily dashboard for managing Facebook and Instagram pages. This is where you create posts, respond to messages, schedule content, and check analytics.
With Business Suite, you can:
✔ Manage all your business pages in one place
✔ Schedule posts and track engagement
✔ Respond to messages and comments easily
What is Meta Ads Manager?
Meta Ads Manager is your advertising tool. It’s where you create and track Facebook and Instagram ads, set budgets, and analyze performance.
With Meta Ads, you can:
✔ Create and run ads
✔ Set budgets and manage payments
✔ Track performance and adjust campaigns
How I Got Into This Mess
As a beginner, I made a few mistakes that complicated my Facebook setup:
- I created three Business Managers instead of one. This meant my pages and ad accounts were spread across multiple accounts.
- I had two separate ad accounts (one under “Vanto Vanto” and one under “Vanto Senior”).
- My payments were failing because I had multiple payment methods linked to different accounts, and some cards had insufficient funds.
- One of my ad accounts got disabled because Facebook couldn’t charge my card.
This resulted in: Pages scattered across different accounts Ads not running due to payment failures Confusion about where to manage things
How I Fixed My Business Manager Setup
To solve this problem, I followed seven simple steps:
Step 1: Choose One Business Manager to Keep
- I decided to keep Vanto Vanto’s Business Manager and move everything under it.
- The other two Business Managers (Vanto Senior and Vanto Vanto) were no longer needed.
Step 2: Move All Pages to One Business Manager
- In Business Settings → Pages, I clicked “Add” → “Claim a Page” to move all pages under Vanto Vanto’s Business Manager.
- If a page was already owned by another Business Manager, I assigned Vanto Vanto’s Business Manager as an admin first, then transferred it.
Step 3: Transfer Ad Accounts to One Place
- I moved all ad accounts to Vanto Vanto’s Business Manager under Business Settings → Ad Accounts → Claim an Ad Account.
- Since Vanto Senior’s ad account was disabled, I stopped using it and focused on the active account.
Step 4: Fix Payment Methods
- I went to Billing & Payments and removed all outdated cards.
- I added one working payment method that had sufficient funds.
Step 5: Close Extra Business Managers
- Once all pages and ad accounts were transferred, I deactivated the other two Business Managers.
Step 6: Manage Everything from Meta Business Suite
- I downloaded Meta Business Suite and linked it to Vanto Vanto’s Business Manager.
- This is now my central place for posting, responding to messages, and scheduling content.
Step 7: Run Ads from Meta Ads Manager
- I now create all ads from Vanto Vanto’s ad account only.
- I always ensure my card has funds before running new ads.
Lessons Learned from My Mistakes
If you’re just starting with Meta Business Manager, avoid these common beginner mistakes:
✔ Use only ONE Business Manager for your business.
✔ Don’t create multiple ad accounts unless necessary.
✔ Keep all pages and ads under one Business Manager to avoid confusion.
✔ Make sure your payment method has funds to prevent ad blocks.
✔ Use Business Suite for daily management and Meta Ads for advertising.
